I haven't ordered from Fyrinnae in awhile so I was pretty surprised by the handwritten 'thank you again' message, that put a much needed smile on my face as I had a tiff with the neighbourhood's crazy woman.
The Fyrinnae boys package the items so snug and carefully.
What's this? Watermarking? Yes, since Fyrinnae is such a popular company I thought it would be wise to make my mark on my photos in-case somebody tried to pass these as their own. (If you have any critique/comments/advice about my watermarks such as changing the colour or making it more transparent, please let me know. Thanks!)
I bought; 9 mini Lip Lustres $2.50 each, 5 samples Glow Blush $1.50 each, 1 Sample Oil-Control Powder $1.50, and 1 Velvet Silica Gel Primer $1.50
It all came to £22.4 / $33 which is what I absolutely love. Fyrinnae products are so cheap you can order so many things to play with, and no, cheap does not equal bad quality, their quality are brilliant and unique.
I am in-love with the Lip Lustres, they are pure fun for your lips and you will never find a product like this anywhere. Dare I say, Lip Lustres are my Holy Grail. Cue lame copy&pasting pasta of my Fyrinnae review on MUA productville;
You know, I'm pretty new to makeup, but not new enough to throw the word 'HG' around. I'm sure this is my first declaration on a product as a Holy Grail, and Fyrinnae's Lip Lustres are well-deserving.
Why does Fyrinnae deserve the Holy Grail Award and what category is it in? 'The Best All-round Lippie!'
LOVES
- Gorgeous, peculiar, unique colours to choose from
- Very pigmented (I dot on my lips!)
- Not a gloopy texture at all! Goes on very easily, not runny!
- Makes your lips feel and look luscious, smooth, delicious.
- Not a true lip gloss so it isn't STICKY (which is what I DESPISE about lip glosses)
- Not ultra-glossy but still gives a beautiful sheen
- Moisturising! (True story, I wear my lip lustres at night, the Fyrinnae Boys were nice enough to send me their clear no-colour, no-smell lip lustre.)
- Stains your lips as it wears off - just dab vaseline on-top and it still looks ravishing and fresh! (Mind, for the darker/more opaque colours)
- Smells delightful.. most lip lustres have different scents.
- At £2.82, and for what it does, it's just plain burglary...
I promise you, there's nothing I dislike about this product, and I am on a quest to collect all the Fyrinnae Lip Lustres. I am like Ash Ketchum of the makeup World! Where he catches Pokemon, I shall bag makeup!(Bag was the only word in Theasaurus of 'catch' I could use to make keep it Pokemon'y. I couldn't use 'collect' makeup, that just sounds boring)
PIKACHU I CHOOSE YOU. (I wonder if they'll ever make a sheer, lightning yellow...)

Ultra Phantom - Colour-Changing; Unfortunately I am unable to observe the colour changing properties of this L.L, but let me tell you that it is such a beautiful, fun, and unique shade because when it is applied it is very sheers, but gives an Alice blue sheen which makes it look effing gorgeous on hot pink to fuschia lip sticks - such as MAC's Girl About Town, giving it a slightly pearlised/iridescent/blue effect. Plan to buy full-size.Anestehsia - Reflective Sparkle: Cornflower blue in the tube, but a strange bluey-mauve on my lips. When applied on top of Girl About Town it becomes a nearly heliotrope, amethyst shade with strong undertones of blue still showing. (I almost don't want to take this shade of my lips because it's so unique!)
Whee!: Strangely, this shade is very 'runny.' I don't mean it bleeds all over my lips, but it's so sheer and runny, I wonder if it's supposed to be like this? On my lips it is ta very faint wisteria.
Ryo-Pinko: This shade actually appears to be the next-step-up from Ryo-Pinko - on my lips at least, it is a medium mauve, exactly the same tone as Whee!, but a tiny bit pinker. Smells amazing.
Trickster: I actually don't find this colour to be that deep or bright, may be because I have so many hot pinks I'm used to it? It reminds me of a less opaque/'watered down', glossier version of MAC Petals&Peacocks (previous blog review) though with a lot more pretty blue highlight.
Visual Kei: An 'almost-fuschia' shade. I found this unfortunately not as bright as I hoped it would be and it definitely wasn't as pink as the pictures on the website. It certainly is pretty, but everytime I layered it to get it as opaque and bright pink as I could it would sheer out instantly when I smacked my lips together.
Puppy Love - Reflective Sparkle: One of my favourites, especially because it smells so damn tasty (Candied Kiwi. Think of Cotton Candy, but a lot more bettter!) It fills my nose with delight. It truly is puppy love. On my lips it is 'nude' pink, sometimes changing slightly orange thanks to the hard-working varying sparkles of blue hues.
Devil Horns - Colour-Changing: I could slightly see the colour-changing effects of this L.L. On my lips it is deeper medium pink, and changes to a nearly gold-coral. Will buy a full-size! Also smells delicious.
Lace Gloves: Very true to description on the website; sheer with pink and red highlights on my naturally mauve lips.
Romantique: I've heard people compare this to 'Rapunzel Had Extensions' eyeshadow, but you know, annoyingly I don't have that eyeshadow to make any comparisons. I actually love this one so much because it honestly is such a gorgeous, romantic nude shade, and I don't like nudes. The highlights are a sexual, soft gold shimmer on a very sheer warm pink. WEAR THIS WHEN YOU'RE GOING TO DO IT. Or - ahem - on top of lipstick.
Blush-blush-blush. E'rybody loves blush, amirite? I used to not understand the point in blush but now I want more. I have been converted!
(ARGH - please note I have 'Charm' and 'Mesmerize' mixed-up)
Seduce: Indeed it is a pretty lilac, sheered to a mauve (still slightly lilac though) Very delicate blue sheen.
Enchant: Whoah-nelly, neon orange, right? Nope! It can be buffed out into a very pretty sunset-like, rosy peach/apricot
Hypnotize: Definitly a dusty-peach.I think it may be too much for my very pale, sallow complexion though. Would work great as a nude blush.
Mesmerize: Medium berry. I've never worn a shade like this before.. I wasn't sure how it looked because I'm so insecure.. but I think it was nice.
Charm: Bright dolly-pink. Pretty on very pale skintones!
-------------
Short stuff: I've tried the Velvet Silica primer but in all honesty I don't see the hype. It feels nice, but I don't see anything special about it.
I love the oil-control powder - it turns my greasy/heavy sunscreen into a satin-soft finish.
BONUS PICS!!
Mix the lip lustres together to get this! Which I call. . . .'Tsunami/Whirlpool/Hurricane of Fairy Shimmer. And stuff.'
I was told my face is heart-shaped. Wearing a smidge of Charm blush and Lace Gloves (I think...)
You have no idea how hard it actually was to keep my eyes opened when trying to take a picture of myself facing the sunlight.
I don't remember what lippie I was wearing... sorry!
In conclusion, I love Fyrinnae, but I feel so bad for them because there are only three men working the company, yet they still pull-through and manage to mix-up new batches of product, able to package carefully and post all the orders, and still have time to sleep. (Though I read before it was only about four hours..) Eh, work is work. I'm happy to be able to help them stay in business.
Also, when Ultra Phantom came out I asked if I could have it added to my order before it was sent out, I received a reply saying they would add it as my free sample of my order. :) They're so sweet.
Hope you enjoyed my 'comeback' post. :)
- Jessica.
