Illamasqua Intense Gloss - Frenzy

Illamasqua Intense Glosses (£12.50 for 7ml) aren't kidding at all by naming these intense because these are the most pigmented, opaque glosses I have ever seen in my life! What you see in the tube is what you get on your lips.

It has a high-gloss finish, comfortable to wear, not sticky in the slightest but will be gloopy if you applied a lot (and don't see why you would need to) they have a very faint scent to them but it isn't enough to repulse anybody who really dislike scented products, and although in the lip product World more pigmentation means more ingredients to suck the moisture from your lips (well OK, that mainly applies to lipsticks, but...) Intense Glosses will not leave your lips feeling and looking parched, and the glossiness will fade in about two or so hours, but the colour itself is quite long-lasting, and when it's gone after say, a meal, itslightly stains your lips to a MLBB shade.
So really, it's almost a liquid lipstick that does not dry out the lips.

I bought an Intense Gloss in shade 'Frenzy,' which the website describes as a 'Hot fuschia pink,' and I would have to disagree with the fuschia part - Frenzy is pure hot-pink, baby.

The product is within a thin, sleek tube which is quite firm when squeezed. The product is released via a plastic slanted tip and it isn't very good when trying to give a precise application, but I use a lip brush so that solves it for me. I'm actually happy there's no added brush because I think they're stupid and they waste product.

I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait! I don't even know which shade I should buy. Maybe a totally radical one like Repulse (pure black) or Gender (apparantly sky blue, but it looks teal to me) or maybe the bright orange one.

I wish it had more diifferent shades (I don't know, but the lip swatches on the website look quite similiar...) and I just wish the tube was slightly fatter! I want more product... but other than that I love it.

Cheer Up

Hello. :) I've been really, really depressed lately.. so I thought I'd show these pictures in hopes of cheering myself, and you (the reader) in slightly better moods for today.

LEGO Anniversary

I'm not a huge, mega hardcore LEGO fan or anything, but the franchise does interest and humour me. I've been wanting to buy my boyfriend the huge LEGO motorised (yes, it moves) AT-AT which is about £80, and the size of a cat - OK, I mainly wanted to buy it for myself but I was a poor student and asked my boyfriend if one day we could buy it and split the costs.

Anyway, on our Anniversary (my very first year-long relationship) I was presented with a huge box, and lo-and-behold, he bought me the damn AT-AT as my Anniversary gift..

If you're not familiar with building LEGO sets, you would normally find one instruction booklet/step-by-step guide showing you how to build your new model - well, this box had three booklets, and about a gazillion bags of LEGO housing a gazillion billion pieces (kay, 1137 pieces to be exact).

  Luke is not looking forward to cleaning this mess up..

Sooooo yeah, there was a lot, and it took us awhile, I think it took us about two days? We got up to here on the first day before I finally managed to drag boyfriend to bed (Yeah.. he actually did most of it. I got pouty in the first stages because I COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING.)

Impressive, huh? Then I was too lazy to take photos of the final finished model with my camera, so instead here it shall be in shitty mobile phone quality.

Beautiful isn't it? It's our baby. I wanted to name it Molly.. or something. It's very unfortunate I did not take a video of it walking either, so I shall steal a youtube video for you to see.

Package of Magic, Love, and Happiness - Fyrinnae

I've been in a hole lately - not a rut, but a hole.

I haven't ordered from Fyrinnae in awhile so I was pretty surprised by the handwritten 'thank you again' message, that put a much needed smile on my face as I had a tiff with the neighbourhood's crazy woman.

Look what came in for me today (well, two days ago) ~

Holy stock photo, Batman! Sorry, but I couldn't take a picture of the palette without the flash bouncing back and shadowing some of the words - plus it showed my grubby finger prints.

This is probably the best eyeshadow palette I have ever owned. Period (for now at least) I like it better than my Sleek palettes.


Palettes with eyeshadows higher than ten usually have pretty sheer (read as 'rubbish') pigmentation - like my E.L.F. palette - YEAH I'M CALLIN' YOU OUT.

Pros: 

• Pigmented
• Cheap (apparantly $7 from Sasa)
• Not chalky at all.
• Very soft and buttery
• Yay! Lots of colours!
• Probably handy if you're going to stay over at somebody's for the weekend.

Cons:

• Pain-in-the-ass to open the case.
• Eyeshadows are too soft (crumbly). This palette came to me covered in pink eyeshadow as one of them had slightly broken - kinda my fault though, I had asked to package the palette so it would fit through my letterbox.
• If you tap the palette, dusty eyeshadow comes off - probably not a great idea to carry around your bag if you're prone to throwing it about.
• Placing and arrangement of colours infuriated my OCD-complex; I tried to tear off the dividers to arrange them, but I were too weak..

Summer Love: No 7 Speed Dry Nail Polish in Fuschia Daze

Boots has a special 3-for-2 offer on selected No7 products going on right now.
I went straight for two of their Quick Thinking 4 in 1 Wipes (amazing makeup cleansers, will review them some other day) and didn't know what to choose for my third item - I didn't want their blush, didn't need their lipsticks, lipglosses, other skincare, or sunprotection - so I bought one of their 6 new nail polishes released for the Summer.

Readers, meet No7's, Fuschia Daze

Fuschia Daze - what a misleading name - I always associate fuschia with hot pinks with purple tones. This is downright coral.
I can begin by describing that this is a killer coral shade - it is coral, but has flashes of pink grapefruit due to the wonderful pink shimmery goodness,
I can't explain this colour very well, so I took 10 gazillion photos for you to see its beauty.. Remember to click on the picture to full-view!

It was painfully hard to capture the real-life colour of this shade when swatched. I tried my best - again, here's several pictures to give you an idea;

I know my nals are horribly stubby due to the fact I've been biting them. I know there is a crease line in one of them because I accidentally touched the edge of a paper when the polish hadn't set yet, and I know I have nail polish on my flesh.
So sue me! D:

Quick notes: Contrary to name, the 'Speed Dry' nail polish line do not actually dry quick. I would say at least about a minute, or just under it - I don't really mind, either way I still wouldn't kick Fuschia Daze outta bed.

I will Never Learn

I wonder why some humans never learn.

Never stop.

Never realise?

I realise that it hurts - so, so much - yet I will do the thing that hurts me because in those short, rough 5 seconds, I feel a sense of satisfaction.

Why is it, that in those few very short moments it takes for us to receive satisfaction or pleasure, we will regret it for the rest of our lives?

In this instance I am not talking about sex. I am not talking about eating sweet, or utterly disgusting, fattening foods, but I am talking about plucking and eating my eyelashes.

'What?' You ask in a tone of appallment? Disgust? Shock? Repulsion, perhaps?

I have suffered from this disorder since I were 11 years old, and still in eight years time when I am close to saying goodbye to the rest of my teenage years, it is still one of the least known disorders, and still it comes back to haunt me.

But what is this disorder?

The disorder is called 'Trichotillomania, and as for an introduction, these are pictures of my eyelashes from four months ago;

Disgusting, isn't it? Even looking at these pictures makes my obsessive compulsion want to tear the rest of those disgusting, frail, wispy lashes because having none looks better than having a few strands that makes me look like an ugly, un-groomed dog.

Of course I say that all with a hint of longing and deep-seated sorrow. I miss my eyelashes. I miss them so much.

Trichotillomania is an obsessive compulsion disorder, associated with pulling hair out from wherever they would grow. The most common types are pulling the hair from your scalp and the eyelashes, but like I said, others pull hair from other places.

Satisfaction?

Unfortunately. To me, plucking my eyelashes and eating them is no different than biting my nails - I've had it for so long it's become a bad habit of sorts - an extremely bad habit.
