Addicted to Sugarpills

OK, that's it, I'm sick of my stupid pun-related blog titles that wasn't really catchy or anything . .
Please bear in mind that this is my very first proper review on Makeup. I would really appreciate criticism of any kind! Thank you.

Sugarpill is a relatively new makeup company owned by Amy A.K.A. Shrinkle, who sells Kryolan products on eBay, and owns and makes her own clothing line on etsy. Now Amy/Shrinkle (I don't know which name to call her by?!) has started her very own makeup line featuring highly pigmented pressed and loose eyeshadows, two pairs of wonderfully extravagant false eyelashes, and stickers!

What I ordered/Price/Shipping
I ordered the pressed 4x eyeshadow palette called Sweetheart, and a single pressed eyeshadow called Buttercupcake.
The pressed and loose eyeshadows both retail on the website for $12(£8) with a net weight of 4 grams / .14 oz for pressed, and net weight of 5 grams for loose which is a pretty great deal you're getting if you're comparing the sizes to MAC's single eyeshadows, which retails for $14.50 (That's £9.60, but in the U.K. it retails for £11.. uuggggh) and has a net weight of 1.5grams /.05 oz.

(Information taken from the Sugarpill website)
International shipping rates are based on the following scale:
Orders under $20 ship for $6
Orders up to $40 ship for $8
Orders up to $60 ship for $10
Orders up to $75 ship for $12
Shipping is FREE on orders over $75 regardless of where you live!
All orders are shipped within 2 business days. Domestic shipping within the U.S. usually takes 3-10 business days. International shipping times may vary between 2-6 weeks.

So in total my order came to $47.10(£31.30). No, I didn't do my math wrong, I used a discount code when the website had its opening day and gave you10% off your order :D

Sugapill's parcels aren't just ordinary, bland, white cardboard with nasty custom forms stuck to it; it's a white cardboard box with an adorable Sugarpill kitten logo stamped on it! AND I get a rainbow heart sticker above the ship to address! It's stuff like this that makes me want to hoard stuff like a squirrel ...

Do you like my cupcake blanket?

And upon opening the parcel, your invoice practically springs-up to greet you! It's so neatly presented on pink tissue paper, which I can use resourcefully in one of my Art projects, I'm sure. Again, another little adorable personalised customer love from Amy. I really love and appreciate the hard work she's put into this. I can't imagine how painful her hand must be from writing on every single invoice, though...

My haul! Plus the two free stickers and two business cards. They look so damn comfy on my blanket. As you can see, the eyeshadow packaging is beautifully designed, and a reason why I can't bring myself to bin the boxes - You can't make me, Goddamnit.

I flipped the two business cards to let you see what's on the other side.

Sqqueeeee!! Looks at how beautiful the eyeshadows are. I kid you not, the flash isn't making that yellow eyeshadow brighter, the yellow eyeshadow is that bright.
The eyeshadow palette has a mirror and stays closed by magnetism, and the palette itself feels a little weighty. Although, it's made of sturdy cardboard it unfortunately could wear down after awhile if it's in your bag, but the single is made of tuff plastic. There is obviously a lot of thought and consideration put into how to design the packaging, and it's turned out wonderfully.

The back of the eyeshadows are stickers whereas the front is printed on - like a pro!

The pans in the 4x eyeshadow palette are magnetic, which suggests there may be a chance to customise your own palette in the future. Nifty. As you can see, the blue (Afterparty) and the green (Midori) are slightly shimmery. The pink (Dollipop), white (Tako) and yellow (Buttercupcake) are both matte and effing bold... (See what I did there?)

Swatches and descriptions
I am so sorrry that the swatches are absolute tosh. The reason why there are two swatches of each eyeshadow is also because the right row are swatched on bare, un-primed skin, whilst the left row were swatched over Pixie Epoxy, a Fyrinnae product. Again... I am so sorry.

Dollipop: As said before, is a vibrant, bold pink, almost reaching neon, but not quite.

Tako: I personally love this, it's a white I can see myself using a lot. It's matte and is perfect for that brow highlighting or colour blending.

Afterparty: A very pretty, rich-blue with a pearly sheen. Apparantly it's a lot darker on some but on my skin it's a little lighter. (Actually, photo swatch is close to true colour)

Midori: A lovely emerald-jade green with a pearly sheen. (..It rhymes!)

Buttercupcake: Very bright, opaque yellow. They really weren't kidding. I love blending this Dollipop.

All the eyeshadows are pretty soft and easy to blend, however, Tako is unfortunately a little powdery as you can see on the left swatch (and I packed the same amount of eyeshadow on both rows)
You barely need to pat at the eyeshadow to recieve pigment, that is how honestly great the colour pay-off is.
Also, some of the eyeshadows on the websites tells you whether or not they are vegan!

Conclusion
In hindsight, I probably should have ordered the Burning Heart 4x eyeshadow palette, and one of the loose eyeshadows to broaden my colour collections, however, I was totally afraid that I'd be hit by the custom charge. :(
When I've saved-up money I will definitly consider buying more of these eyeshadows - I really recommend them!

I hope Amy will think about adding a lipstick line to her brand; I can just see Sugarpill coming out with all of these wonderfully, amazing high pigmented, gorgeous lipsticks with incredible sheens, or mattes, or whatever... you know me, I'm a lippie girl.

I wish Amy good luck and success to her Sugarpill brand!

Thank you very much for your comment!
You should buy them anyway. I'm very shy yet I wore them out the other day. :)

Great review! I've been sooo excited about Sugarpill coming out, and everything looks so damn adorable.

Do you know what size the palette pans are? They look bigger than MAC eyeshadows, but would they fit... say... Stila? Just curious in case Shrinkle ever releases empty palettes.

Oh wow, those look gorgeous! Your review really made me want them. I'm not sure I'd be able to pull them off, I have lots of colors like that but am terrified of them. Great 1st product post!
