Eyeko Cheer-up Haul = Disastrous Failure Part 1

I'll be reviewing my Eyeko order I recieved yesterday. I was too mad to continue my review so I left it for later. :x

I ordered on the 07/03 (That's the 7th of May. That's how we roll!) dispatched 07/08, and arrived on 11/03 (yesterday, Thursday)

The parcel was a padded envelope with Eyeko's logo and address stamped at the back. After seeing Sugarpill's, I don't think anything will impress me ever again... And inside it were the invoice and the products in Eyeko's very own plastic bag.

As you can see, only the nail polish came wrapped-up. The brown tub's lid came loose though it had the white pull-out stopper thing inside, what if it wasn't enough and the parcel men had been throwing packages about and everything came lose and there were cream everywhere? I would have liked it if they packaged their products more carefully. I mean, even the little product boxes would be wrapped to avoid them being crushed.

Nail Polish

The nail polish is what I'll review first: They are adorable, they have lovely pastel colours (my first ones!) and they have a rather cute shape and labelling/stickers on them.
Although, they were a little expensive considering their size - £3.50 for one 8.5ml bottle, and for this offer it was £10 for four.
Whereas Model's Own nail polish is £5 for one 14ml bottle, but their deals are £12 for three, and £18 for five - that would make them £4 per bottle, and £3.60 per bottle - almost as cheap as Eyeko's but for 5.5ml more.
I admit, it's probably because of the packaging of these Eyeko's bottles that appeal so much.

(Excuse the horrible hands and nail job) One coat, no base, no overcoat (I know.. that's bad.. right?) it's rather streaky and you can definitly see the nail white.

2-3 coats later, much more opaque and pretty! I personally love the lilac and mint coloured polishes - my favourite! The berry on my pinky as you can see has a very matte 'dry' finish.' It looks kinda dull, actually...

Concealer & Highlighter
Next is Eyeko's concealer & highlighter:
The tine says: *Fake a good nights sleep with this liminous concealer with a silky finish for wide awake eyes in an instant! *
* Freshen your complexion. For a soft focus sheen brush on to brow bones, cheeks bones, and cupids bow for radiant skin.
*
The ingredients are: *Aqua, cyclomethicone, dimethicone, etylhexyl palmitate, quaternium-9 bentonite, propylene carbonate, jojoba ester, polyisbotuene, octyl methoxycinnamate, aluminum starch, octenylu succinate, c12-15 alkyl benzoate, dimethicone (WHAT?! Again?!) cetyl peg/ppg-10/1 dimethicone, hydrogenated castor oil, alcohol denat, glycerin, mgs04, imidazolidinyl, urea (..isn't that pee?)*
*Aqua, glycerin, butylene glycol, cyclomethicone, jojoba esters, dimethicone, glyceryl stearate, cetearyl alcohol, octyl methoxycinnamate, magnesium alluminum silica, triethanolamine, methylparaben, propylparaben, imidaolidinyl, urea, ascorbyl palamitate (vitamin a), reinyl palmitate (vitamin c), tocopheryl acetate (vitamin e) butylated hydroxyanisole.*
As you can see, they come in click pens.... I. Cannot. Stand. Click pens. Especially if it's the lippie kind. They're just so annoying, I have to click and wait for like a minute because I'm scared product will shoot out and become wasted...
I had to twist both up to 30 times before any product came out.

Literally. As soon as some product came out, a bristle came shooting out, too!

....I know what you're thinking; 'what is that ugly peach, apricot, caramel colour?' Well, if somebody really is this colour I honestly didn't mean it in a bad way, but this is Eyeko's ONLY concealer shade, and as far as I know, everybody is not the same colour, and I don't believe in 'Universal' shades.

Maybe if I rubbed it in it'll turn out better? :D

OK, it just looks like bronzer now. But my face is paler than my wrist, so it's definitly not my shade. I suggest you use this during Summer, or if you're a Jersey Shore girl
It also stains a little.. it's been on my wrist for a few hours. So not bad staying power. Using a MU wipe would get it off. Maybe I can try using it as blush?

This is the highlighter as a blob on my hand.
This is the highlighter once blended!

As you can see, it's very sparkly and shiny... it also made me want to swatch my other highlighters.

L to R: Benefit High Beam mini size. No7 Illuminating fluid in Pink. Eyeko Highlighter
Uhmn...... they look so similiar to each other that I nearly couldn't remember which is which. Highbeam in real life is actually a lot more pink-peach. No7 is a very iridescent silver with tiny hint of pink, whilst Eyeko's is the same colour as Highbeam, but with a slight golden highlight.
There's actually no point in rubbing these in- I just did and they all look the same. My arm is shiny. I look ike Edward Cullen. HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW?

Normal and Tinted cream
The tin says: *Create a flawless base with Eyeko's 3-in-1 Cream
MOISTURISER, HIGHLIGHTER & EYE CREAM in 1!
Infused with skin perfecting light reflectors and antioxidant Vitamins A& E plus a Vitamin C boost for a radiant, clear complexion.*

*For radiant skin and a sun kissed glow try NEW Eyeko 3-in-1 Tinted Cream. Treat skin to the same luxuriously whipped texture made with super hydrating Jojoba boosted with antioxidants Vitamins A & E plus Vitamin C for a luminous finish as our No.1 bestseller Eyeko Cream.*

The ingredients are:
Water, glycerin, butylene glycol, cyclomethicone, jojoba esthers, dimethicone, glyceryl stearate, cetearyl alcohol, octyl, methoxycinnamate, magnesium aluminum silica, triethanolamide, methylparaben, propylparaben, imidazonlidnyl urea, ascorbyl palmitate (vitamin A), retinyl palmitate (vitamin C), tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), butylated hydroxyanisole.

Apparantly, this is Kylie Minogue's favourite cream (the normal one)
I really don't have much to say about these... if you plan on using them as moisutirsers - they are definitly not enough. They do feel creamy, but if you add too much your face willl look like a discoball. The Eyeko normal cream is a beautiful pink with definte golden illuminance/lustre. The tinted cream once rubbed in gives a very nice 'was out in the sun long enough to get this tiny tan' look.

Did you forget to review the mascara?
No, I didn't actually. I'm just not doing it right now because Eyeko forgot three items in my order, hence the reason why I was mad.
I sent them an elaborate e-mail telling them how disappointed I was and they re-packaged and are currently in the process of sending the rest of my items.

In Conclusion
I find Eyeko to be a little gimmicky.
Their nail polishes are nice, the creams and complexion products are fun to play about with. But they're not entirely too great.
I'm not too sure if I would order from them again - probably not.
I wonder if they don't pack well because shipping is always free within the UK and EU?
I'll write a better conclusion and what I think about the packaging etc. when I recieve everything.

Great review, I was kind of drawn in by the packaging too but I don't think I'll bother now.

And it's nice to know I'm not the only makeup obsessed gamer in the world. Loved your post about pwning as littlesnowflake. My screenname on Call of Duty is pinkfizzy and it always gets comments! Pwn on!
